Chartres en Lumières

From April to October

During the day, Chartres is lovely to stroll around the former private mansions and timber-framed houses edging the cobblestoned and steep streets leading to the cathedral. When the night falls, the town changes into a colourful setting to the occasion of the event called ‘Chartres en Lumières’. Light shows will cover 24 of the most beautiful monuments of the town, which brings a magical touch to Chartres. An amazing show for the entire family. A tourist train will allow you not to miss anything of the illuminations. In 2018, ‘Chartres en Lumières’ will take place every night, when the night falls, from 14 April to 6 October.
