Château de Villebon

At just 16 km

The Château de Villebon was closed to the public for a while, but will re-open for spring 2018. The ideal occasion to rediscover this military construction built during the 14th century at the Anglo-French border, during the Hundred Year’s War. Its castellated towers and moats filled with water make the castle still as impressive as during the Middle Ages, even though its occupants have added a touch of Renaissance, some lovely French gardens with basins and fountains, an orangery and stables. It is mentioned in the work of Marcel Proust under the name of ‘Guermantes’.
